CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP, DECEMBER 24th at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas Eve is such a special moment in the life of our church and in your families. In recognition of this, we are trying to make this a special and safe experience this year. We will have one worship service at 6:30 p.m. with two worship spaces: the Sanctuary and the Social Hall (the social hall will be a live stream from the Sanctuary). Here are a few of the ways we’re adjusting to make this safe and special:
My prayer is that this Christmas season might be a time when you will experience the “good news that will cause great joy for all people” (Luke 2:10).

- The celebration of Holy Communion will be seated in the pews, but we will have bread (instead of wafers) and juice ready to be picked up upon entry.
- Silent Night and the lighting of candles will be unique. We’ll begin the singing and lighting in our worship spaces. While continuing to sing, our two worship spaces will walk outside to the Third Street lawn. We can all gather together safely and spread out there to finish Silent Night and lift voices and candles high in closing.
- Candles and Communion packets will be available to be picked up for families worshiping from home. You can light your candles and join in Holy Communion along with the in-person crowd.
- Give the gift of space and health this Christmas Eve. It is imperative with rising COVID cases that we respect the pews that are “closed”. I would also ask you to consider as a ministry to others - wear a mask, even if that is not your normal practice. We will have higher numbers of people together that evening, and we should do our best to gather safely and assure the at-risk they can join us confidently.
- Consider having your family worship in the Social Hall as a gift to guests, the disabled, and other families for whom the Sanctuary is easiest and most natural to enter. Do this knowing this is an act of love and ministry to others and that we’ll be able to gather together at the end.
- Finally, if you are joining us online (we'll have a live stream on our YouTube Channel), we will have communion packets at the church throughout the Christmas week. Please call the church office (912-496-7308) and come by and pick this up, so you can fully take part in Christmas Eve worship from home or wherever you'll be joining us!
