Want to know something practical you can do right now in the midst of the coronavirus to impact our community for Jesus? There is a shortage of medical supplies right now, including masks for those in the medical field. Our Folkston Park Nursing Home would love to receive some home made masks to alleviate the shortage they are facing. See the YouTube video below for instructions. Also, here is a news article about how others are doing this - AND - there is a helpful graphic/text description for making masks, for those of you who are better at following written instructions.
Reach out to Dawn Allen for help or to take on one of the specific steps below: Dawn Allen, who came up with this idea, purchased 3 yards of 3 ply (9 yards total) of fabric and was able to make 76 from this material. However, she did run out of 1/8" elastic because the store did not have enough.
If you have elastic please reach out to Dawn so we can get that in the right hands.
Or, if you love to sew and would like to take that part of the project on, just reach out to Dawn Allen.
Finally, if you are creating masks solo, let Dawn know so we can get them delivered to the Nursing Home when you are finished.
Let's reach out to our community and make an impact for Jesus, one mask at a time!
