DWELL
During the holiday seasons, we long to dwell with family and close friends. Even those who have passed away remain close to our thoughts and emotions. As we enter Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas, we will look at God’s plan to dwell with us from beginning to end. His great love for us is why we have seen and continue to see God create, reach out, enter into, and redeem our world.

Jonah: A Forgiveness Journey
Jonah is not a fish story. It’s a forgiveness journey. And it’s a whale of a tale that involves hurt, anger, frustration, storms, deliverance, change of heart, massive expressions of faith in God, depression, prayer, and a big huge question for you and for me. See, this isn’t Jonah’s story. It’s not even Nineveh’s story. It’s our story. Will we step into it and find the joy of God’s work in us?

God's Great Mission Handout |
The first sentence of the sermon was cut off. It said something like: "If forgiveness seems daunting to you, an unrealistic venture, a fruitless project, or even an unwelcome suggestion... you are in good company."

Introducing the Holy Spirit
Like a colleague in the midst of a conversation dropping information about a friend you need to meet, Jesus describes the Holy Spirit to excite and prepare us for our eventual meeting. Some of us need to have this conversation with Jesus again because we’ve had a lot of hearsay about the Holy Spirit. And, who knows the Holy Spirit better than Jesus? True, Jesus doesn’t tell us everything. He just tells us what we need to know to have a good/healthy encounter.
July 14 Advocate (John 14:15-27)
July 21 Convict and Convince (John 16:7-11)
July 28 Words and Truth (John 15:26-27, 16:12-15)

Faith Sounds (June 2 - July 7)
Have you ever thought about why we sing so much in church and why music is so central to worship? In fact, why is music such a powerful force in our world? “Faith comes by hearing” (Romans 10:17 NKJV), but it also sounds itself in music that can shape, shake, and save the world - and you & me!
June 2 Come Together (The Beatles)
June 9 Heaven (Los Lonely Boys)
June 16 Reflections (The Supremes)
June 23 Blaze of Glory (Jon Bon Jovi)
June 30 The Day The Music Died (Don McLean)
July 7 The Devil Went Down to Georgia (The Charlie Daniels Band)

Soil Sermon Series (April 28 - May 19)
Why is it that when some people read the Bible, it comes alive in them, it grows and bears fruit? But, for others, God's Word just remains information or a dead text? Jesus points not to what translation, or when to read the Bible, or what devotional author we go to - he talks about the texture of our heart through an analogy with soil and seeds. Over four weeks, we'll explore the four types of soil (hearts) that Jesus addresses and learn who we need to be to find God's Word come alive in us.
April 28 Hard Soil - Matthew 13:1-9, 18-19
May 5 Rocky Soil - Matthew 13:1-9, 20-21
May 12 Thorny Soil - Matthew 13:1-9, 22
May 19 Good Soil - Matthew 13:1-9, 23

Sermon Series during Lent and Easter: "Stained Glass"
Look around our Sanctuary any Sunday morning and you’ll find beautiful stained glass windows that tell the story of Jesus. But, if you’ve ever been in the Sanctuary in the middle of the night, these very same windows are dark, confusing, and almost unintelligible. As we journey through the season leading up to Easter (we call that “Lent” in the church), much of it seems dark and broken… until the light of resurrection enters the picture. Each week, our stained glass windows will point to the broken pieces of this world and of Jesus’ life remade into something that resurrection life can shine through with redemption.
Mar 10 I am the Shepherd - John 10:1-21
Mar 17 Jesus Knocks on Door - Rev. 3:14-22
Mar 24 Jesus with Kids - Mark 10:13-16
Mar 31 Triumphal Entry - Mark 11:1-11
April 7 Prayer in Garden - Mark 14:32-51
April 14 PALM/PASSION SUNDAY Adult Cantata
April 15 MAUNDY THURSDAY/GOOD FRIDAY Crucifixion - Mark 15:21-39
April 21 EASTER SUNDAY Resurrection with Mary - John 20:1-18
